Brett Beachner was born and raised in a small town in Western New York where he originally planned to become a commercial airline pilot. After graduation, Brett found work as a landscaper to pay for flight school. Flying lessons are expensive and working outdoors in the Northeast can be a great motivator to find another way to make a living. Brett had already earned his Pilot Instrument Rating when he found an opportunity in E-Commerce.
At that time, E-Commerce was relatively new. There was not much information available on how to get started, but he recognized an opportunity and committed himself to make it work.
Importing white label products and selling them on Amazon and Walmart.com was something that huge corporations did, not 20-year-olds working 18 hours a day out of an apartment. Working with a friend and very little money to start, he found a small inexpensive product that he believed could be marketed online and shipped from his home. Operating capital was so thin, the first product orders required the customer's payment to purchase the needed materials to fulfill the orders. Instead of buying shipping materials from the post office, he made an arrangement with the local mall to collect discarded boxes from the warehouse loading dock.
